Safety & Wellbeing

As a requirement of the Health & Safety at Work etc Act 1974 the Council must make the necessary provision for securing health, safety and welfare within the workplace.

As with all safe systems of work it is impossible to cover every eventuality. Your safety and the safety of others is paramount. If during your employment with the Council, you are unsure or encounter a situation that you feel is not covered then you should contact your line manager or a member of the Safety & Wellbeing team for further advice.

We can all contribute to the safe working culture of the council. A wide range of information resources exist to assist, including information on training and a range of safety topics.

Employees are instructed not to put themselves at risk and to report any issues to responsible personnel immediately.

See below for the Occupational health and safety policy.
