Resignation & Notice

Decided to leave your current role?

Effective from Monday 21 September 2020, if you are resigning from your post(s) within North Lanarkshire Council, you will process your request via your mySelf account. Your resignation request will be sent to your reporting manager for approval via their myTeam account.

A notification of change form will no longer be required for this purpose as of Monday 21st September 2020.

Employee and manager guidance and infographics are available as follows:

These guidance documents are for employees who wish to resign from a position / job (on MySelf, a job is also known as a position) within the Council and do not apply to employees who are transferring from one position to another position within the Council. There is a different process for transfers (including promotion) which are automatically actioned by the Employee Service Centre. This guidance is not applicable for retirals / redundancies. Your manager will liaise with you in this regard.

Should you be wishing to retire please ensure you follow the correct procedures to process – you are not required to complete a resignation via MySelf in this circumstance. The link to retirement can be found here

Remember to give your line manager appropriate notice of your intentions. Your notice period will be contained within your contract of employment. This is the minimum period of notice you are expected to give.

If you require any assistance, you can raise a People Helpdesk General Enquiry case via myNL Portal (for Portal users) – for non Portal users, you can call on 01698 403151 or email them at ESC-HelpDeskTeam@northlan.gov.uk
