If coreless flexi can be accommodated in your area of work, notionally, coreless flexi should be used when an employee wishes to be absent from work during the hours of 10am to 12pm or 2pm to 4pm. Outwith these hours, employees can use the existing flexibility of the flexible working hours scheme to vary start and finish times or take a longer lunch break (subject to the exigencies of the service). Employees wishing to take a half day of leave or more should request “flexi-leave” rather than “coreless flexi”.

Annual leave is based on continuous length of service (refer to Schedule A).
To determine how many days leave an employee is entitled to, check AL & PH entitlement table (see How to Calculate Leave Entitlement in Hours).
Then:
i) Multiply the number of days by either 7 (if post FTE hours are 35) OR by 7.4 (if post FTE hours are 37 hours).
ii) Divide this number by either 35 hours or 37 hours (the FTE hours for the post)
iii) Mutiply this figure by contracted weekly hours. Annual leave calculator is available on Connect although this is only accurate for FTE 37 posts.

To calculate the leave for the current year, the existing entitlement should be divided by 12 & multiplied by the number of completed months and the same calculation done with the new entitlement and both figures added together.
N.B. Once the change in hours is processed on iTrent, it will re-calculate the exact AL entitlement in hours.
